Our Heritage
After the 10th anniversary of the Zeta Omicron Chapter (Muskingum College) it was decided that there was an interest in revitalizing the Central Ohio Alumnae chapter. In March 2009 eleven Alpha Sigma Alpha alumnae from chapters across the nation ranging in graduation dates from 1950 to 2009 met on the east side of Columbus.
The Central Ohio Alumnae Chapter was re-issued a charter in April, 2009.
Our aim was and continues to be the sustainment of Alpha Sigma Alpha chapters in Ohio and continuing our legacy as sisters in Alpha Sigma Alpha.
Philanthropy
The Central Ohio Alumnae are pleased to announce our philanthropies are the S. June Smith Center and the Special Olympics. We are glad to help these terrific organizations focused on the needs of handicapped children.
The chapter’s first philanthropic project was participating as volunteers for the Special Olympics gymnastics state competition at St. John's Arena. This is an annual event coordinated by one of our many members. An additional tradition has become our holiday collection drive for the S. June Smith Center.
